maybe this is a stuped question but i want to shave my antenna and just have a question?
what do you use for radio reception
is there some way to still use radio

My dad has one in his 1969 AMC Rambler American.
It works fine....

if your cheap like me,,,just make a mount along your frame rail to mount stock ant. under cab

FYI: Speaking from personal experience hidden antennas do not work as well as the old school standard antennas. I put one of the hidden ones in my Model A Hot Rod and it only picks up very strong signals.

That's why modern cars still have antennas. You can bet they wouldn't go to all the trouble of installing them if the hidden ones worked just as good.

I have one of those hidden anennas and it works ok, but most of the time I am listening to my ipod or cd.

I put mine under the cowl works fine where Im at.

^^^ thats pretty sick! but yeah the hidden antennas work.. not something to go cheap on tho i have put in som pretty nice ones that stick to a rear window and resemble a satalite radio antenna but ru off your radio and a 12v source "battery".

i agree...i had the Autoloc hidden antenna on my old '93 fullsize...i had the same issues as lakeroadster...i would definitely do the stock/hidden route such as what ^^^ The Sub did

I've had better luck just mounting the stock or even a cheeseball aftermarket antenna in a hidden location (under dash, inner fender, ect).

I've heard from some other people about not getting the greatest reception with the hidden ones as well.
