Re: pinks all out at maple grove

is it just first come first serve on registration? the route66 joliet even was gonna make you do some pre-registration race to qualify for registration. just another way they can make money by having an event just so you can pay to be in an event. needless to say i've decided not to enter this one

Re: pinks all out at maple grove

registration sold out immediatly the day it went on sale. i was very lucky to get a ticket. 12,000 people tried to get a ticket for 450 spots. im sure it is alot of hype but it should still be fun just to be there. doubtful that i will get picked since im running high 11's to low 12's but oh well, never know.

Re: pinks all out at maple grove

these are very cool shows. rich is a tool but he does put on a good show. they will run thru 400 cars faster than you've ever seen. i felt the same knowing they weren't gonna pick a 12 sec class. they always want low 10/high nine cars

Mike: I doubt that'll be the only race all summer. Look forward to seeing you there, Fast_dev.

Re: pinks all out at maple grove

NEVER say NEVER guys.

Let me lay out a conversation here between myself and my good friend Dana. I had been in the first round in the 2nd Pinks All out ever (in Phoenix) with my little shoebox Nova and we were finishing Dana's 74 Nova. Plan was to take it to Tucson and try to get him in. EVERYONE knows all the want is 10 second cars right?????

So here's the conversation a few days before the Tucson Pinks-all-out.

Dana: Marv,, your going to take something to Tucson yourself arent you, you already paid the entry fee?

Marv: Naa I'll just wrench on yours. That's what were there for, to get you in. They won't let any car race in one of those things twice so i just wasted my money entering.

Dana: Auuugh come on. You know you'll be sorry if you don't. Take the truck.

Marv: No Dana,, They will NEVER pick a 12 second class, so the truck is a waste of time. and fuel to tow it there.

Dana: Ohhh BS. They have never seen the truck you ought to take it.

Marv: Naa that's just too much BS.

Dana: What BS,, you make a pass you park it till they call you again. There is no between round maintenance on that thing, TAKE IT. You'll have plenty of time to wrench and run the truck.

Marv: No Dana, there is NO way they would ever pick a 12 second class. I ain't hauling that thing down there just for nothing,, I'll just wrench on your Nova.

Dana: Marv!!!! Take the dam truck!

Marv: OK fine. I'll take it and make a big stupid brunout or two and see if it catches there eye for the opening segment of the show or something.

Fast forward a few months to ......

NEVER say never!!!

These things are a blast if you get picked, and those that don't get highly upset. That's totally understandable. I hear the format is going to change a little this season so be prepared to give them the show there looking for. Just have some fun on the track and let whatever happens happen. Believe me it's a heck of a lot more fun going with NO expectations and having things turn out for the better.
