Good luck on that price. I was just curious about the trim.

Re: anyone ever seen this AD chrome trim option?

I have seen only one like that with chrome on the front and rear fenders, I had thought it was only an option on the panel trucks. I have a 50 data book I'll look and see if its a listed option. It may have been a dealer add on like so many options were.

Re: anyone ever seen this AD chrome trim option?

Thanks, I was just curious. I thought about dealer option, but I would guess pre-bent chrome would be a GM item.

Panels only was my understanding too. I've seen this trim in good condition go for as much as he is asking for the truck.

Yep panels only, and pretty rare on them. The rear trim will not fit the pick up rear fenders. I sold a really set of front and rear bars with out the upper spears for the front fender for 1800 a couple of years ago. Jay

Yep, $1200 for fair stuff, $2500 for NOS in the last year. We've got 2 pieces of it that we found in the dirt behind a neighbors. There is a big blue Panel on YouTube with all of it. Someday I WILL have it...but not today!

Re: anyone ever seen this AD chrome trim option?

I've seen a couple of trucks with it but figured that it was either owner or dealer installed. The dealers could probably get the chrome trim and install it back then pretty easy to sell some dressed up trucks. That's in the past 40 years that I saw those so there aren't/weren't many around.

Re: anyone ever seen this AD chrome trim option?

Hello! First post on here...anyway, I have tracked sown a lot of the rare accessories, but those...seems like the lowrider guys snatch them all up, out here on the West Coast (I am in Las Vegas,. NV).

Same with the later Deluxe panel trims...there are not even many pics of trucks with this early version, though.
So here is a 1948 panel I recently found for sale that DID at one point back in the decades past, have them on it!

I have been thinking of buying this parts panel just to remove those front fenders. The only way to have a "correct" template made, in case I ever find a set...!

Goes on auction in a few months.

BTW...$2400. for NOS...you've never seen any real NOS ones, guys. Maybe someone at Pomona with some originals they polished...maybe.

Re: anyone ever seen this AD chrome trim option?

I saw the NOS ones, in the boxes with the wrappers. In Michigan at a swap. I thought it was a lot but then I saw another set go for that on eBay.

My son's 1 ton panel has had the driver's rear fender replaced with what appears to have been an NOS fender with the holes if you want a 'rear' template for that some day thing!

And my assembly manual states the trim is for the 3105 half ton panels.

Re: anyone ever seen this AD chrome trim option?

If anyone's interested, he's got it on eBay now. Item number: 150425061507 (you can type that number in the search box)
Starting bid $1400, no reserve, one bid so far.
There's also better pictures.
Also, I live about 50 miles away from this truck. I don't know the guy, but if a board member wins it and needs help with anything, just shout.

"Dan Bowles"...yeah, ridiculous (for that item) isn't it?
I was giving you a hard time - I would expect them to be that much $ closer to THIS coast! Wow.

That guy just posted thsat truck on C-list, didn't he?
He doesn;t even have a title yet...didn't even check what year it was before listing it on C-list...now it's on ebay?

Re: anyone ever seen this AD chrome trim option?

I saw a SET, front and REAR for $2400-2500 NOS. Only set I've ever seen...he doesn't know what he has but has a high price on it. $1500 for the truck MAY be OK if the trim is clean-up-able (new word for the day, Mr. Rogers) and he could probably flip that for $800.

It is a rare trim option because it WASN'T a trim option for pickups...if he'd have had an Email link, I'd have told him!!

And SUBLin...I'd take that parts panel even without the trim. If you want a "tracing" of the holes for the rear fenders, I'd gladly make a charcoal rub or something to give you an idea where things go. May be a good idea for your fronts when someone figures out how to repop these affordably!

Yea, he sounds like a real "piece of work" too. A quote from his CL ad:
By the way, we DO NOT accept calls or do business on the Sabbath, which is sundown Friday evening to sundown Saturday evening.

And, Dan if you want to tell him that it's not a truck option, just click on the "ask seller a question" function on his eBay auction.

Re: anyone ever seen this AD chrome trim option?

Actually...that panel is in a guy's "collection" of projects for sale, in NE South Dakota.
PM me for the info..

Has a website. Thisnkthat panel was like $700.? Less? It's on the site.
Someone forwarded me the pict he got from him.

I wasn't really thinking about it, but it IS cheap, titled, and you can buy it for the price on the website, up until the last day of this month. Only!

After years of having a website, all the 100s of cars are in a Deal with that "big" auction company.

**He says after the last day if this month he cannot sell any more himself.

~But if you put a deposit DOWN, and are working a deal...or buy it...you can secure it, he told me.
~Otherwise it auctions in Sep. (and you can't buy any of them in the interim), ~then sold for scrap value if they don't go at auction. he says he already has that deal in place...
Save some projects if you are closer than me (Las vegas)!!

Re: anyone ever seen this AD chrome trim option?

Yep - Like I said - the Panel is a good reference pic. I wasn't even thinking of that site anymore, since I cannot "hurry" and buy them before the 1st. After that he cannot sell 'em.
I am not schiiling for him, either.

Let them auction (VDerBR...K) and try to get him more.

There are 5-6 cars I can see on the site that look good to me. Ther resat...well, some have been on there for years without ever coming down in $.

Taking chances with auction. Might work out. Happens in the Fall.
If that 1948 panel had had the trims ON it...It's be here already.
