? on removing x member..

finally got around to taking out the x member in my truck.... and i was noticing the upper/outer mount plates were bending...

should i be taking out the springs while i have it removed? or can i just jack up the bottom arm to relieve some of the pressure so i can take out the bolts...

just how strong are those 4 rivits?

Re: ? on removing x member..

The whole assembly should come out (x-member, springs, control arms, ect) there are no rivets to remove.
Unbolt the assembly from the C-10 then bolt it in your blazer and your suspension is complete (minus a sway bar if you have or want one).

Re: ? on removing x member..

the rivits that hold the bracket (that attaches to the upper a arm) to the actual cross member,

that plate/bracket is bending pretty good from the spring pulling down the the upper a arm.

Re: ? on removing x member..

Once you get it bolted back in it shouldn't be an issue.
