Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!
The ones i bought are c-56s gun metal. And the clearence issue is with the 3inch drop spindles and a coil and a half cut. The bottom of the wheel is hitting the lower a-arm when ever you turn. Hopefully the 18s will solve that problem

Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!
What's the backspacing on the wheels that have the clearance problem?
Anything over 4" will give you problems. Your 3" spindle and 1-1/2 coil removed putrs the front around a 6" drop. That alot! How close are the a-arm u-bolts to the ground?

Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!
I wonder if that only for the 3" spindle. I have 2.5" spindle and airbags and I don't have those issues. have ran 15s, 18s and 20s. I did have grind a little off on the lower a-arm with the 15s. Hope that 18s do the trick... should look nice too!

Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!
I dont know what the backspacing is without measuring its probably more than 4 inches and The a-arm bolts are about 3inches off the ground. It looks sweet and seems to have plenty of travel im sure it will have the normal square body a arms dragging though. Im hoping the 18s will clear it too cant wait to get them!!

Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!
I should hopefully have the rearend bolted in and the truck sitting on the ground either tonight or tomorrow so i can set the pinion angle and shock mounts then tack everything depending on what my girl has planned lol. As far as the c-knotch being located wrong im toying with the idea of making it a shortbed with another rear frame section and z'ing the rear frame and taking the bed off my body dropped truck for it. Thats just in contiplating mode though right now. I would of been nice if the c knotch would of been located in the right place before hand lol. Tours looks good now that its lowered being a shortbed so i dont know

Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!
Well here is an update. I got the wheels and tires on it and the truck sitting on the ground. Now i can build shock mounts and set the pinion angle. After that back apart she comes for final welding and paint.
Also my clearence issues are fixed up front

Re: Buildin my 88 Crew Cab long bed AKA STRETCH!
If i could of fit 20s on the front with static drop i would of put 20s on the front and 22s on the back. I am not wanting this truck bagged i want it to tow bagged ****! lol It rides and drives good the way it is now. I think i might be able to clear 20s with a low pro tire but then you sacrifice ride. Ill drive it like this for a while and see if i like it. I am with you though 18s look to small on this big of a truck
