Above windshield rust

Is there anybody out there that makes patch panels for the section above the windshield to include windshield channel. I saw that LMC has the section above the windshield but that's all. My 66 has it bad rust in that section and afraid to dig into it just to find it in the windshield channel.

Re: Above windshield rust

Ditto on my '61 GMC cab
I have a donor cab with shot floors, rockers and corners.
Just trying to decide whether to cut out patch panels or remove the whole darn greenhouse
I know most will say "find a better cab",but not gonna happen in this area, plus, my lower cab is pretty good, solid rockers in and out, decent corners and hinge pillars etc
BTW ed I would think in Ca. you could find a better cab

Re: Above windshield rust

People really hold on to these trucks in my area. I was surprised I was able to pick this one up for so cheap. I live in Central Cali. With all the sea breeze and fog if its not painted it will rust.

BTW. Anybody know what size sheet metal is used?

Re: Above windshield rust

This piece is made. I've seen the re-pop in a catalog but cant remeber which one. It was listed as 60-63 I believe. Maybe Classic Industries.

Re: Above windshield rust

Let us know how it goes edzuk
I've seen that panel, looks like a life saver for most cabs
Unfortunately my rust got to the inside of the cab and extends out to the sides more than that panel will cover.
Like I said, keep us posted,I'm sure alot of us would like to see an install of that panel as it's a fairly new piece
Thanks T
