Great job Myrtle Beach!!!
Well...just got home from a great weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We went to the "Run to the Sun" car show - probably one of the best shows I have ever been to. It was huge! Also, there were 3 or 4 parts vendors for trucks like mine ('65 Chevy). I was impressed that most of the vendors and the cars were from fairly near by - North and South Carolina. It was nice to go to a show and not see just the same old cars. It was held on the site of an old mall that had been torn down, so it was all paved. It was also free...including parking. That was nice. I am going to mark my calendar now for next years show.

I also just got home from the event. This was my first time for the run to the sun event.I will be marking my 2011 calender also.Had a great time, not only was it free with parking and shuttle service but all the food vendors prices were very affordable.

Re: Great job Myrtle Beach!!!
I am glad you all enjoyed the show as I am a local to Myrtle Beach and lately the city has worked hard to run off anyone having fun. I live a few blocks away and could walk to the show. It was great to have access to the vendors locally, some thing about "seeing and touching" vs a catolog is far better. Tell your friends to be here next year and we will try to do it even bigger!

Re: Great job Myrtle Beach!!!
There are no more "real" shows other than the run for the sun show we just had. We do have a pretty local show at Broadway at the beach Late in the summer but it is nothing like the run for the sun show, mostly local people with under constution projects and not much of that. On Saturdays in the summer a smaller show sets up at "Burky's". It is a small drive in on 17 bussiness 17 about 39th ave North in town. They normally have a run and about 20-30 nice cars. Myrtle beach is very unfriendly to anyone haveing fun at something they can not tax or that makes noise at the moment so I am not sure how it will affect future shows. The Run for the Sun show was pretty loud all week ( I loved it) so we are still waiting to see if there will be any fall out from it. I will try to post some pics later today if I can get time at my computer when I get home.

Re: Great job Myrtle Beach!!!
A couple of pics as requested. Just to give you some idea of the size of this show it covered 6-7 square blocks. And we filled the show car areas. More rome for vendors though. For myrtle beach this was hugh. Look for everyone next year.
