Rear bumper filler panel?

I have had two people tell me that I can get a filler panel for my rear bumper on a 1963 fleet with a short chrome bumper (doesn't wrap around the sides). I would post a picture but I have not figured that out yet. Does this part exist and if so where?

Re: Rear bumper filler panel?

A few guys here have used a roll pan in conjunction with using the rear bumper. Mar-K makes some USA made roll pans.

Here is a link to a previous post:

Re: Rear bumper filler panel?

I believe you are speaking of the factory rock guards...they sit on top of the rear sport bumper mounting brackets and infill the left and right void. They cover approximately the outer third and the inner third is left open.

They were available as a factory/dealer option on the stepsides and fleetsides with the painted or chrome rear sport bumper.

The photo by "lakeroadster" of the rear roll pan, is not a factory/dealer option, however, they are a popular custom mod, done and perferred by many.

Re: Rear bumper filler panel?

I realized the other day that I didn't think that part was reproduced. So I went out and cut mine off the old bumper and put them in the garage. Not in the best of shape, but useable.

Re: Rear bumper filler panel?

Thank you everyone for helping figure this out. I am new to the board and the old truck thing. I know alot more about old Pontiacs than I do anything else. I wanted a tow rig that would be the right look for my 62 Tempest that I will be building this year.
