New guy from So.Cal
Corona to be a little more exact.
Been in love with the 67-72 trucks for a long time. Decided to stop investing $$$ into daily drivers and buy a classic that I can keep for the long haul (father son project with my boy) Currently in the market for a nice/complete rust free 67-72 swb Fleetside truck.Hoping to spend less than 7K (willing to pay more for something special but I still want a deal) and build it up to my standards over time. (air ride/wheels will probably happen sooner than later) If you know anyone selling something that meets that criteria let me know Brandin |

Re: New guy from So.Cal
You should be able to find a nice truck with your budget. I bought mine because I wanted a project with my dad...you're son's lucky to have a dad like you. I hunted for a year and finally ended up with a truck that needed more body work than I wanted, but I was happy because at least I knew what I was getting into. We looked at a lot of rust buckets that looked beautiful in pics online. Good luck!

Seems like alot of clappers and long beds for big $$$. I would love to find a grandpa truck with decent orifinal paint and no rust.I would be happy to drive something like that for a couple years while working on wheels/air ride and a lsx motor swap. go frame off and paint/body when all teh other things are done |

Hi neighbor! I am in Riverside, right next door to you. I am currently converting my 3/4 ton LWB to a SWB 1/2 ton. Good luck in finding one....they are out there.

I was looking at your build the other day (very nice job)...I'm actually gonna go look at a truck the same color as your 3/4 on sunday. How does that color look in person? Do I need a personalized plate that says bby crap? Last edited by Cole Trickle; 04-01-2010 at 07:16 PM. |

I live off of Tyler and Indiana. I drive my blue/white 72 SWB truck every day. If you see me rollin' at the Home Depot in Corona (I go there a LOT) give a holler and a wave. Here is the thread and pics I posted when I first bought the Ochre 72 LWB: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=323282

Delete your post imediatley so I don't get into a bidding war...lol Wheels are terrible and it needs a new dash pad but it looks fairly clean and original. Not my favorite color but dumped on some 20's I think it has possibilites. He started at $8500 I am gonna take a stap at 6K. I would be willing to go $6500-6800 if its clean What would you pay? |

Re: New guy from So.Cal
I think you're right on with 6k as the first volley. You're max seems reasonable too, but if it's super clean don't let a couple $100s keep it out of your driveway...I just couldn't find that many clean truck reasonably priced.

I don't need anything for a while and I don't want a rust/bondo bucket. The guy was cool on the phone but I didn't really get a good idea of what he would take.....(good news is I didn't get that firm feeling) gotta love the throw me a offer and we will see. When I sell something I already know what the lowest I will accept is. |

Re: New guy from So.Cal
That looks real nice....$7500 is not bad if it isnt full of rust and bondo. Make sure you check the rockers, corners, fender under the battery tray, and the cab seam on the roof. Pull down the visors to see if there is any rust damage on the inside roof of the cab. Check the frame to see if it has been cut down from a LWB. Look at all the sheetmetal gaps. Look in the glovebox and see if the SPID label is still present. Also check the VIN plate on the drivers side pillar. It looks to be an original Calif truck....I think I see a black license plate on the rear. Make sure it is registered and the title is clear in the sellers name.
Maybe this is your truck dude! Good luck, I would certainly go check it out if I was looking for another one. There was an all original 72 LWB Custom Camper for sale in OC on CL last week that I posted here. It was LOADED with factory AM/FM, tilt, Big Block, all original paperwork including the protecto plate. He was asking $3900! It sold in a day. Deals like that used to be a dime a dozen here, but they are getting harder to find now.

Re: New guy from So.Cal
I watched the one I bought on CL drop in price three days in a row. $4500, then $3500, and finally at $2700. I still tried to low-ball him, but we both knew it was a deal. He even threw in an oak bed kit with all the hardware to sweeten the deal.
