Late Model Steering Wheel Help

I've got a '65 Suburban. I found a later model corvette steering wheel that I want to mount up on my original column. Everything matches up fine until I tighten the nut down - then I've got all kinds of rubbing, grinding, and nothing fits right.

Here's my question - is there an adapter that will make this wheel work on my original '65 Suburban steering column?

Can anyone point me in the right direction to make this work?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Late Model Steering Wheel Help

Maybe try putting a washer behind it, that might give you enough clearance.
