It's baaaaaaaack!
J-fab took a vacation in the middle of my header project so the 'about a week' became 'about a month'! But.. picked her up yesterday and she's back and I can start throwing some of this pile of parts together!
Jody did a beautiful job snaking the Headman Hustler weldup kit down through there. He fought with the Headman 'stub-flange' on the drivers side and decided to just whack the stubs off and make his own connection on the passengers side. Glad I wasted $170 on those stupid stub-flanges!! DOH! As always Jody's work is stellar! I just have to hang the mufflers and turnouts , fit them to the slip collar and then the headers will go to Affordable for coating. FINALLY,,, moving forward again.

I just did my taxes and reviewed my SS statement. Thanks to the current administration it looks like I will only have to work till noon on the day of my funeral. |

Thanks guys. I tell ya I'm just glad to be back working on it again.
Midevil,, Good eye man. I dyno'd this motor with the 2" to 2-1/8" stepped Lemons for my Nova. It made good power up in the 6800-7k range but were not going that high now, and putting it on a T-stop to keep it slowed down,,.... 1-7/8" and running through the mufflers to keep it street legal seemed like the right choice. Besides, Primaries are about 14" longer than the Lemons. Jody put the slip collector dead at the trans cross member  It's pretty much the Headman Hustler roadster header tucked up inside the chassis. Pretty frickin cool! Yesterday I ran to Tuscon and took my mom to lunch, back here and took my wife to dinner, and still had time to spend with the girlfriend,, assembeled her yoke to and painted her driveshaft  ...put the dash in place just to see if I like the new configuration or not. The original dash .... HA, only thing that worked was the turn indicators and brights indicator, So a couple of cheep LED's from Radioshack does that and moved all the gauges up to the dash.  Then scattered some of the junk around the cab floor and tried to decide what I needed to build, and where I wanted to mount all this crap.  Still a big list to throw at this thing,,, but at least it's moving forward again. Making progress is almost as much fun as going to the  bar. suuuure it is

I was thinking about fabing up a set of headers for my pile in the near future. I was thinking since I don't have inner fenders and won't when I finally put the glass front on, perhaps running them over the top of the frame then down, so 12" or so before the first bend. I've heard good things about doing things like that. But then I'm thinking, ok, is it worth the 10ish hp right now or should I do a mustang 2 front next?

That's so funny. The pics where you can see your one proform.....I didn't catch on at first that it was a tunnel ram. I was about to type a huge WTF????? lol
Looked weird but makes sense now and nice headers. Nothing like a little tig welding. |

Very nice work! I've built several sets myself, and it's really nice to see when a header builder works around the plugs, and makes things easier on the tuner.Keep up the good work! Awesome truck, by the way!
