engine, trans, rear end

over the next year my plan for my truck is rebuilding an engine, gettin a rebuild transmission, and rebuilding a rear end and uprading to disk brakes on the rear. what are you all's suggestions on a setup? i was thinking a 350, a 700r4 trans, and havent decided on a rear end yet.

Is this a 4by or 2by? What are your overall intentions...driver, drag truck, tow rig?

2 wheel drive, driver (also tired of the 305 lagging at 80 on the interstate)with occasional street drag. what is in it now is a 305 with everything stock, a th350, and a stock rear end i think. i havent touched anything since i bout it on july 14th 2000

The cheapest and easiest would be to swap the 305 for a 350, keep your 350 trans, and depending on the year of your truck...swap out the 10 bolt for a 12 bolt. If your truck is older than 81 you should already have the 12 out back. This combo has been done a bazillion times and is very reliable and basically bulletproof.
