carburetor woes
My 60 GMC PU has a BXVD-3 stromberg. 385 383. It needs rebuilding. The carb, according to what i can find on the internet came on a 41 dodge. I can get a kit for $56.00. Should i seek a more modern carb and if so, what type so i can search the boneyards. Anyway, please give me you thoughts, experiences and advice. thanks

Re: carburetor woes
My advice is to just throw it in the scrap pile and buy an new one. I have been there and done that and it is just a headache thowing good money into junk parts. A new edelbrock 600cfm can be had pretty cheap.

Here`s an outlet for stromberg parts, but I would look at something with the same bolt pattern as the stromberg or build an adapter to mount one thats of newer design unless you`re trying to keep it the way it is, you might be able to sell it to the f**d flathead crowd as they scour the country side looking for the stromberg carbs...
