Added my Trim Today!!!!

I'm sure a few of will remember the questions i had not that long ago about adding the cab trim, and tailgate band to my truck,(Under the 'Trim Removal' Thread)... I knocked it out today... thanks for all the advice and pointers I got from you all!!! Took me a bit of time, drilling, and patience... but it came out pretty good... seeings the fact that I'm new at this type of stuff. I'm digging it though!!!

Right on! Thanks! Now that I look at the pictures side by side... I'm gonna kinda miss the bone-stock look..LOL oh well.., I'll get used to the trim... maybe trim around the fenders next?? don't know.. what do you all think? I can't seem to stop now.. It's addicting.. It all started with replacing my stock column.. with a tilt one... been adding stuff every since.... oh yeah, joining this site hasn't helped much either!! LOL I keep seeing things I like.. and want to add... ehhh.. I thank the Lord for giving me this as a project/hobby.. keeps me out of trouble.. =0)

Thanks a lot!! Okay.. here goes... the color's been up for debate but.. It's either "Saddle Tan".. or " Desert Sand Metallic".... always thought it was Saddle Tan... but cleaned up and read the Tag on the fender well... and it says both... so you chose? LOL ...... I know my dad had the truck painted once, like 15 years ago... since he bought it back in 89....which was the original paint.. Dad told the paint dude to just match it up.. and the color you see is it..

check the bottom of the tag out, and you'll see what I'm talking about:

Looks like you've got Dessert Sand Metallic Paint and Saddle Tan Custom interior. It does look very good!

Re: Added my Trim Today!!!!

my truck said it was saddle tan and desert sand. mine was two tone with the gold color on top and bottom, and then a more beige color in the middle. the PO painted it rattle can white so it was hard to tell,

i think the saddle tan is the gold color.

.. Scale of 1 to 10... 10 being the toughest..... I'd say a 5... seeings that I had no trim from the factory to start with in the first place... I did take measurments from the donor truck... measured like 3 times before I drilled..lol It wasn't that hard.. I just used some sheetmetal screws to attach the clips I got from the donor truck... although.. when i got to the last two clips.. towards the passenger side i slid the straight piece on.. and it rode a bit higher than the driver side... don't know what happened.. I did something wrong... but I had to lower the last two by eye.. and it came out good! other than that... sweet gig

Re: Added my Trim Today!!!!

Would Rivets work better to seal out the moisture? Would water run behind the trim and go in the holes?

You know.. I didn't really think about that, but, the screws I used were so small anyway, that I doubt much water would seep in.., or much that would cause any harm.
