Re: Best place to buy door panels?

i bought might @ LMC. little different from the oem, but i dig them.
A month ago i went to salvage yards to get the plastic pillars, no luck.
Either they are too old, damaged or cracked.
i just ordered new ones from classicparts.com

Re: Best place to buy door panels?

well i have painted them but it's chipping off. the biggest thing is that i'm missing all the trim off the driver side panel...(the stainless piece in the middle and the trim around it) it just looks like crap, and they are really an eyesore to my otherwise new interior.

.. yeah, mine are starting to peel on the armrest part,.. I learned that's the downfall of doing it that way,. oh well.. it'll do, till I find what I want.

You should have good luck finding stuff over there in the bay area...

LMC, ClassicParts, Brothers.. is what I have catalogs for... sorry I couldn't tell you the quality of the stuff from them.. haven't ordered stuff like that yet..
Although I hear that they all get their stuff from the same distributors... It's just about price wars. I could be wrong...but you never know
Good Luck!

Re: Best place to buy door panels?

damn 200 bucks thats the cost of a new set! i thought it would be cheaper to have them covered especially in vinyl id expect a higher price for leather or suede or something custom...

Re: Best place to buy door panels?

I ordered my from LMC, they are okay, I have alot of fitment issues installing them, and they still don't quite fit perfectly. They sure look alot better than my old ones that is ofr sure.

Having them done in vinyl would be sweet. I have covered panels before, and 200 doesnt sound too bad. Its hard to do, and takes some time and skill. In the end you will end up with what looks to be a brand new panel, but feels like a nicer piece. I have never liked the molded plastic panels, a vinyl wrapped panel would feel more expensive and higher quality. That is, if the wrapping is done right.

Re: Best place to buy door panels?

Looking at ordering new door panels from LMC within the next week. Did they come with the screws?
Seems like with LMC they like to sell each item separately.

Re: Best place to buy door panels?

Mine came with new screws, but you have to use your old plastic inserts.

Re: Best place to buy door panels?

inserts are the plastic ,and sometimes metal, trim around the inside of the doors. Pictures up above show a wood grain and what looks to be billet. These can be costly as well.

Re: Best place to buy door panels?

My doors have plastic inserts that slide into the metal of the door for the screws to go into, they are used for the 4 bottom holes in the door panels.

Re: Best place to buy door panels?

Actually most all companies sell the exact same ones we do. They are made in the USA from Palco Industries
