custm knobs

Does anybody have a 60-62 with custom dash knobs (headlight knob, wiper knob)?

Re: custm knobs

I have custom knobs in my 1960 GMC, but I’m not sure if you mean something non-stock, or the deluxe factory knobs with the stainless ring. Here are a couple of shots of how mine looked with 1960 Galaxie knobs, and currently with aftermarket ball knobs:

Re: custm knobs

Just to clarify markeb01 I mean non-stock knobs. Thanks for the photos.

Re: custm knobs

Should you happen to need a knob for a rotary switch (like my heater fan switch) I found a pretty cool knob. It’s actually a windshield wiper knob for a 1948 Chevy truck. Most of the classic truck suppliers carry them. They look like a miniature version of the inside door handles.

Here’s a photo of the knob installed in my truck.

I got my ball dash knobs from SoCal Speed Shop. They are called “Shoebox” knobs due to their similarity to the 49 Ford dash knobs. Although they appear to have a spun finish in the photo, they are highly polished like chrome, which can be seen on the switches further down in the ad:

Clayton Machine Works also makes some attractive knobs:

And this outfit makes beautiful knobs, and may have something of interest:

There are also a variety of sources for laminated style knobs and billet aluminum versions if those appeal to you.
