64 Radio stock speaker - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Can anyone provide a picture or model id number of the stock dash speaker used on a 64 C-10?

Also did the speaker mount by bracket to the dash or radio?

Bracket to the dash as well as to the radio. There is additional ground straps and static disks that are installed in the grease cups. A word of caution though, the capacitors on the radio will burn out if you try and start the radio without a speaker attached. May I suggest you purchase a 1960-66 Chev/GMC Truck Factory Assembly Instruction Manual as well as the 1964 Custom Accessories Installation Manual. Both are available in reproduction.

Thank you for the reply. Both recommendations are already on order, just have not arrived fast enough. I had an opportunity to but a used speaker out of a salvaged truck and was trying to get some advance information to identify it as correct to the '64.
