Re: Gotta Truck!
Actually the military vehicles had the battery up on the firewall, not on the wheel house. There is not sufficient clearance on top of the wheel house for a proper sized battery to fit correctly.

Re: Gotta Truck!
I'd go with whatever color is under the dash, unless you have a sheet or sticker somewhere with a code. Definitely fix the battery, and clean up the wiring a bit. I'd get mechanical working first before I worried about paint and body work. Yeah, it looks a little rough, but I'd rather have a good running, old looking truck, than a showpiece that I couldn't drive around. That may just be me.

Re: Gotta Truck!
well, theres nothing where the battery should be. Im gonna weld in a battery tray.
Were gonna re wire the whole thing, there are splices everywhere, and wires that end not connecting to anything to. We just put the carb air filter in yesterday. Could someone find me a service manual for sale somewhere? Thanks Quote:

Re: Gotta Truck!
My 84 blazer had it sitting right on top of the wheel well, got it straight from the army auction. I ended up running the air intake through the fire wall into the cab right there and never had to relocate the battery. Could be different with the trucks, i don't know why it would be. Still wasn't held down with bungee cords. lol
