Questions about bigger wheels

Well I have an 86 c10 I'm working on and I'm on the market for wheels. So my first question will a 17 inch wheel cause a lot of wear on factory suspension/steering parts? Next does any one know where I can find some, and don't cuss me for this, import style 17 inch wheels with 5-127 BP

This is what I mean by an Import style wheel, preferably matte or low gloss black. The last one is what they will be going on.

Re: Questions about bigger wheels

If an aftermarket wheel is heavier than your stock set up it will cause more wear than a stock wheel. In most cases they are lighter, but even if the are not, I wouldn't consider the additional wear to be "excessive".

There are several companies that make that style of wheel, but most of them are true 3 piece and are rather expensive. The only one I know of that should be reasonable priced is soon to be released by Eagle Alloy wheel. Its the Eagle 227 pictured below.

Something to factor in when making your decision on wheel size is the cost of tires. Research the size you want and compare costs for 18's or 20's. You may find that going with a bit larger rim will save money or tires.

Re: Questions about bigger wheels

N2Trux that is pretty much what I am looking for is a wheel like that. What is a 3 piece wheel though? How is it three pieces? I'm only looking for a 17 or so though so nothing too big. Can any one recommend a tire size? I'm looking at 245/60 15 for my stock rally's curre ntly.
