Re: Went better than expected

it didnt totally suck but things didnt pick up like I thought it should.
first pass was 1.86 8.0/87 2nd pass 1.76 8.0/85
Not sure how it picked up a tenth in the 60' between runs other than the first pass was 'dry' meaning I did not purge or have fuel in the line, 2nd pass it did...but the tenth I picked in the 60' did not show up any where, not even the 330'.
No big deal, I got plans for the winter and we will go from there.

Re: Went better than expected

What is your bottle pressure.. With 60' that much lower, same ET and mph down, makes me think bottle pressure dropped..

Re: Went better than expected

925-950ish at beginning of run to 900ish at top of track.
I think I also have it too fat b/c I dont want to burn it right now.
that "100" shot was probably too lean back when it went 7.8s, thinking back the BP was 1200+ and i let it rip...and it responded...
got H/C/I here that will go on then we will see what it does. I want to get the Nitrous Outlet plate setup and see what happens.

Re: Went better than expected

You using a single jet kit right?

What jet do you have in it for the fuel and N20?

Last time tested was with a 57n/28f at 900psi and was about 10.3-10.4 afr on the first stage. But I noticed when the N20 comes on, injector duty cyle goes up because dynamic cyl air goes up as well. It now has a 57n / 24f for the 100 hit first stage.. My wideband was down last time at the track, but I went from 11.45 @ 118.6 to 10.73 @ 128.7.. NX Calls the 52N jet a 100 hit.

Re: Went better than expected

I was running a 59N/33F and on the street and the AFR was in the 12s with 850PSI on the street testing.
I knew I would have more bottle pressure and wanted it richer so I went to 35F.
I dont have the 58/30 jets as a calculator show for a 150 shot @ 900PSI.
So I bumped up to the next jet I had and made sure it was fat enough....which probably means it was too fat but that's fine, when I get ready, it will be right. Heck, I could go again and put in the smaller fuel jets just to see if it picks up....it has to....

Re: Went better than expected

Be careful with too fat! Fat kills more parts than lean. If fuel goes down in the ring land area it will lift the ring land when it ignites!

Re: Went better than expected

Buddy recorded this with droid:

wheel hop was bad! didnt do that the next pass. this was the 1.86 60' the next pass was a 1.76.

going back in 2 wks for another try at it before the mods begin. Might try to swap out the intake for the 90mm one I have with the Nitrous Express plate set up I got now.....

But over the winter it will sport CNC'd 243s, Comp 214 cam, TBSS 90mm Intake, 36# injectors, Nitrous Outlet 90mm plate, Edelbrock 90mm TB. I think that will pick it up some on motor and do what ever I want on spray.

Re: Went better than expected

Shon, why such a small cam?? A 224ish cam would be nice.. Or if your gonna go small duration, why not stick an LSL lobe on it.

b/c I dont want to spend $1k on a TC for the 4l80e and have not found one used that meets the needs. if I find one before the swap then cam selection could change.
