I am about to buy control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. to update and freshen up my doner '80 setup I have for my '63. Ive looked all over the web at all the vendors and local parts stores and have found a hand full of options and prices. Bushing prices as low as $12 up to $30 a set and ball joints as low as $20 up to $55 ea. Can someone chime in and give me an idea of whats worth spending the extra coin on and what experiences they have had with the cheaper vs the pricey.

kanter lists a c10 kit, #02391B for $219. they have lifetime warranty on their parts.

Get some Moog parts from summit or your local parts store. Well worth the money and im sure most people would agree.

Thanks for the replies guys....Looks like Moog is getting the winning vote. Does anybody know if there is a big difference between Moog and the NAPA brand stuff cuz thier prices are almost the same. BTW I am going with OEM rubber cuz I have heard alot of bad stuff about the poly sqeaking after a short while of use and all I want is a smooth and quiet ride. Im not to worried about trying to make it extra tight for handling and cornering. Anybody have any additional thoughts?

I would go with either MOOG or Napa. I don't know where Napa sources their suspension parts, but in my experience they have the best quality parts of any national chain store I've used.

For an opinion on poly bushings, I'd refer to post #14 on the following thread:

i read in another thread that if you get the same part #s as moog that they are pretty much the same. is this the case?

i found the same numbers at o'reilly for $13 and $18 for the tie rod ends and $7 for the sleeve.

I use to work in the auto parts business.

you will be surprised on how many parts are made by the same company and gets rebranded by another. I know Oreilly had Moog and another brand. (dont remember the name) I open a few boxes of the other brand and the parts had Moog's name and part numbers.

A old friend was a manger at Car Quest. The Car Quest oil was made by Valvoline.
