When doing the alternator swap, is it ok to slpice the wires together instead of jumpering them in the clip? I spliced them instead and tossed the clip. Now where is the blue wire and the white wire supposed to go?

On mine the jump wire is from brown to white, and the blue and red wires are un-used.
