LS Manifold Swap - Stock ECU?
Could you take a stock manifold off an LS motor and replace it with an aluminum (carb style with injector bosses) manifold, put a 4-barrel style throttle body on it (with IAC & TPS), put 8 injectors in the manifold, and make it work with a factory ECU?
Not so much interested in performance gains (if any) as I am in achieving a certain look.

Re: LS Manifold Swap - Stock ECU?
yes.....I believe so. You're not really changing much...since fuel and spark is still being handled the same and only the air intake path/entry is different...w/o being problematic. Not sure what little gotchas there are tho...
I had the same desire...as far as look...but I went all the way with a carb.

Re: LS Manifold Swap - Stock ECU?
Thanks! Its really been more about the drivetrain upgrade, tho I did lower it and put big sway bars on to try and make it handle a bit better. My dream is to have a custom coilover IFS with rack and pinion and bags (and maybe 4 link or even something with a watts link - tho I don't like their look) on the back to really make it handle. It'll be a year or so before I get to the paint and body as well as interior upgrades...but at least it'll be a blast to drive (and race) while I'm waiting for the coin for the next phase!

Re: LS Manifold Swap - Stock ECU?
Yes, lots of people do it. The factory ECM doesn't care what orientation everything is in, so long as it's all there (tps, iac etc etc). You'll gain some upper end HP but may lose a little low/mid tq compared to a factory plastic front fed intake.
