What could be the cause of a clutch that won't disingage on a 80 gmc it also chatters like crazy when you run it in gear or neutral. thanks

sounds like the clutch is shot. this just happened on my buddies cummins. it wouldnt disengage and it chattered like no tomorrow. we ordered a new clutch and when we took apart the trans there was basically no clutch left at all
