So with a stock GM HEI distributor this is what you would do? I don't see the coil in this picture...where is the coil?

Found this on page 16 of the ignition box instructions.....

This doesn't help with the problem at hand...but what is the purpose of the MSD box? (what does it do)

main purpose of msd ignition is increase volts to the spark wich is good for power and better mpg. multiple spark for a longer duration during your compression stroke

I think I'm reading this wrong....is the thing I was talking about a points system? I have never broken into a distributor before so I'm getting confused....is page 16 showing how to set up a box to a stock GM HEI distributor?

I didn't realize there were that many different MSD boxes to choose from. Do they make much of a difference on stock engines?
