Front bumpstops on lowered trucks

I got 3" belltech spindles and stock springs with one coil cut but my tires rub on big bumps against the inner fenders what are you guys doing with your trucks? Im thinking of putting factory bumpstops back in it. What do you guys think? Btw getting rid of the inner fenders is not an option.

This may help you size up your wheels. I haven't been paying attention to the 20s wheel thing. I have 255/60 15s but haven't dropped the front yet. Your tires are .7" taller

Pick your poison. There's going to be interference one way or another, which can you tolerate more: tires buzzing the inner wells or bump-stops pounding the x-member?

On my old 74, I tried some Chrysler bump-stops but they were too harsh & really too short. I then shaved some new OE b-stops down & they took a 'hit' better but still allowed the tires to buzz the inner wells more than I cared for. I wound up putting new, un-modified OE b-stops back in.

The truck was on the stops constantly, but it rarely buzzed the tires after that. I only had about .250" clearance FWIW.... 27" front tires & about 5-6" of drop (you couldn't roll a coke can under the lower control arm bushings). The taller bushings weren't that noticeable on decent, smooth roads but it was harsh on rought stuff. But, that beat the alternative of the front compressing more & getting torn up more than it already did.

ok i dont get it. ive got the same drop. 3inch spindles and 1 coil cut from stock. with stock bumpstops and ive never hit them?

Different springs have different amounts of sag/fatigue depending on the trucks history. Maybe your springs were swapped @ some point or ours led a harsher life....

have 235/75/15 they rubbed the inner fender before anything.
and 275/40/17 they dont rub at all.

and the stock springs are out of a blazer if that makes a difference

Well I thought I never felt them either till I took them out, your truck might be hitting the bump stops without you feeling it.

I believe the prob the OP was having was the tires buzzing the inner fenders w/no b-stop.

The 235-15's you mention = 28.8" tall, the 275-17's are 25.6" tall. 3+ inches would (could) make a difference between rubbing or not. I do not like short tires on trucks so 27" is my minimum & b-stops were required to keep the tire from buzzing the top of inner fender wells.

I'm currently facing the same problem with my ex truck which I passed down to my brother. On the left is dropped 3 in the front and 4 in the back on 22's (i don't remember what size tires). And also i noticed that the rear leaf spring on the passenger side is quite a bit closer to the bed than the driver side leaf spring. If he decides to keep the truck without the inner wells he will have to rewire the engine compartment as water tight as possible and soon since spring is not too far away.
