Question about guages
I am kicking around the idea of using a gauge cluster from an 02 Camaro in my truck. I want to get my truck back on the road as soon as possible, but I can't afford a new set of aftermarket gauges right now. I was thinking about cutting my original gauge panel and fiberglassing the Camaro gauges in. I'm not sure how it will end up looking, but if I can make it work for a while that would be great. I have a line on getting some of the gauges cheap. The main question I have is if they would even work. Would they be able to read the signals my computer sends out? Here is a pic of the type of gauges I'm talking about.

I would be willing to bet that it would. I put an LT1 5.7L from a Corvette in my 1994 S-10 truck and I used the factory S-10 gauges. The signals from the Corvette ECM displayed all of the correct values on the S10 gauges. I was concerned at the time as well, but it worked great. I don't think GM changes the values much between models/years.

I would think as long as your keeping it efi with the PCM you'd be fine.

Dont use a V6 cluster like the one pictured, V8 clusters have 155mph speedo. The big snag I see is the gas gauge that has a serial data feed from the PCM, Unless your running a 98-02 F-body tank & sender the gas gauge wont work.

I didn't even notice the pic was from a V6, the one I am getting is from a 02 Z28. I am actually using a gas tank from from a 99 Camaro, so hopefully it will all work out together.
