another tier size question

I have a 62 step side with 3.5 inch drop up front and 5 in the rear and was wondering what the biggest tire size I could fit without any modifications to the truck except for rolling the lip on the rear wheel well?

My 65 had 31x10.5x15's on it when I bought it. They were mounted on 6 lug truck ralley's. No clearance issues, but mines a '65.

The backspacing of the wheels you plan to use makes a huuge difference.

I hope this helps!

Re: another tier size question

I had 295/60-15s on the back of mine, and when it was loaded (so imagine dropped 4") the tires rubbed horribly. This was on 15x10s with 4" backspacing. I have 15x8s (3.25" backspacing) now with 265s and they fit well.

1bad62... I need your cowl induction hood.

Re: another tier size question

i am also trying to figure out the proper back spacing i need aswell for my 60 sb step side, also has a 72 5 bolt diff in it(so it's wider then stock)i tried a 5'' back spaced tire/wheel combo had the box just sitting on the frame and a fender hand held in place......seems like it will work ok,my truck is also on airbags and i wanna tilt side to side and not hit the fender or box or if i do........geuss it's time to do some inner fenders like 62prostreets truck
