Re: Help! Fuel Tank Replacement
Take them both to a radiator shop. The old neck is soldered to the tank and is easy to get off, but the new short neck is practically welded on. My rad shop found out that he couldn't unbolt the new neck because those little nuts wouldn't come off, so he broke the neck free from the flange and soldered the old neck to the new tank/flange.
This might help you, too: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=212828 |

Re: Help! Fuel Tank Replacement
I've got a plastic reproduction tank in my 71. The big inlet is just like your new one, short. So I have the steel downspout running to just below the bedfloor, then a rubber hose from there across the frame rail, to that short tank inlet. Works fine.
