Turbo Technology in WA had a shop truck back several years ago they did a twin turbo setup on I think (maybe it was a single) but it made close to 1000 hp and was a very easy driver the way they talked about it. http://www.turbotechnologyinc.com/ is their website in case anyone was interested. If I recall right the truck was a 76 short wide bed and was orange and tubbed rear end. I have the magazine around somewhere that had the article about it.

That is one of the funkiest turbo setups I have ever seen. I wonder how it can flow fuel through the turbo without condensing on the tubes and impeller?

that's easy. it doesnt flow fuel through the turbo. the fuel is put through the carb, and the tube from the turbo supplies compressed air. they both go down the intake to the cylinders.

From reading that, I don't think he has ever run more that 14psi of boost. All he said, is that with 24psi desktop dyno said it would hmake that much power. Look at the exhaust routing too.

The engine is not fuel injected but rather uses a draw thru system. The carb is a 1150 dominator worked for the system that then feeds fuel and air thru the turbo then back into the intake manifold.

I based my question off of that statement in the ebay ad. The guy may not know what he is talking about. How does a draw through carb meter fuel without vacuum?

Pontiac used that sort of set up on their 80 or 81 turbo Trans Am with a 307cid it was a totally uprdictable set up. The way the adapter is set up when te air off the turbo goes threw the plate it causes vacume under the carb which pulls gas + air the only problem with the set up is when you let off the gas the boost has no where to go but back threw the carb which caused alot of fuel leaks. In a nut shell it was junk that is why vortec puts the whole carb in a box but the carb has to be reworked for that type of use.

Guys,

I've never seen a turbo setup up like this before. I'm getting ready to install a turbo on my diesel, so that's different, but all turbos are the same in this regard:

The suction side of the turbo is the center part facing the front of the engine. The output side of the boost is on the top. The exhaust is on the second turbine, towards the back of the motor. That means this particular setup in this truck is sucking air and fuel from beneath the carb, and then blowing it all back out of the turbo and back into the engine. I don't know where it is forcing it in at, perhaps in the rear of the intake manifold. I can't see where the pipe is connected to behind the carb.

I would imagine that the carb is setting on the air intake in a way that the fuel and air are bypassing the intake manifold, and rather is going directly into the turbo. The turbo is then forcing it back into the intake. It's setup just like a supercharger, with the blower between the intake manifold and carb. However, I didn't know a turbo could work that way.
