Tranny switch. Advice please.

I'll start this out by saying that it's my first post so I hope it turns out ok. I recently purchased a 72 c10 with a 350 and a 3 on the tree. I'm considering maybe wanting to switch it to a th-400. I'm not mechanically inept but it's been a number of years since I've done anything this in depth. Is this a hard switch to pull off? What all does the switch entail? Thanks.

Welcome to the board. I'll get you started with what I can remember.

Auto crossmember And mount
th 400 yoke
Auto radiator w/cooler and lines
Auto starter
Driveline work
Th400 passing gear switch

Remove std trans crossmember
Remove clutch pedal.
Thats all I can think of Im sure theres more.

Steering column(or floor shifter),crossmember change,speedo recalibrated,Driveshaft and yoke(i'm uncertain on lengths)?,tranny,swap flywheel to flexplate,tranny cooler,assorted hardware.This is probably not everything but is a start on all that needs to be dealt with.Keep in mind that the auto will work with the 3:73 rear gears but you mayt want to change.For the trouble and what it's worth,I would think about a 700R4 for the OD.
