has anyone tryed bolting the 2wd cross member to a 4wd frame
i got an 1989 k5 and i also have a 1985 2wd truck that i want to take the 2wd cross member off and put on my blazer

It's a pretty common conversion... there should be some threads around here somewhere that you could reference. There are no holes in the 4WD rails for the 2wd x-member, but with careful measuring and a drill you should be able to get it all bolted up.

there is a thread on here where a guy took a 4x4 blazer and a 2wd truck and swaped them lots of good pictures it looks easy to swap the front members to me

yep, thats my handy work.....Its been a long time since I completed the swap, and I no longer have the Blazer, but if you have any questions I will try to answer them from memory as best as I can.
