Can any body tell by the pics if this is set up for V8 or I6 the frame had no engine when I got it Thanks biddaboy

My 72 Mounts are the same (350 cid) (would say V-8)

Looks like the mounts on my 70 with a 350! So my guess is v-8 mounts!

Sorry dude thoes are 6Cly mounts. Yet they will work with a Small block.

They will be fine where they are. You will just not have as much fire wall clearence to the HEI.

i think there is one more hole on each frame rail closer to the front end, cant you move em into those holes? that would make sense to be the v8 position

Like 72MARIO said, they will be ok and will work for a V8, only the engine will sit farther back, and a bit frther from the radiator, but nothing a fan shroud shoudln't help...heck even with out one over heating isn't a problem.
You could move them up the the V8 position and drill through the lower cross member.....well...thats what my parts truk had done to it.....my girlfreinds dad thought they were V8 mounts...as did I...I yanked em and cleaned them up then compared them to my mounts and such....and put two and two together and came to the conclusion that they were set up oon the V8 pos. and the cross member was drilled. My V8 is in the I6 pos....no problems....but good luck finding a driveshaft....had to have mine made. but no running problems....I just had a bad Crankshaft

the V8 mounts are shorter, and that hole you speak of is farther inside the frame than the I6
Below:
The red shows the V8 mount holes....the blue X kind of shows Where the I6 mounts would meet the crossmember if moved the the V8 position....and you could drill and bolt....I wouldn't.
the green circle May be for, I think, 1 ton 350 mounts or big block mounts....not sure....

go to a salvage yard and pick up some engine mounts from a truck of our year or even a later model....I think 60 up until 87 will bolt right up. And the pads are cheap at like AutoZone and Oreillys

73-87 mounts are different.

By the way, if you have a short bed, and if you put your V8 in the right V8 position, and run a 700R4 trans, you can use a 81-87 short bed driveshaft without mods. They are everywhere in the junkyards, and it will do away with the 2 piece shaft deal too.

Hey you guys are great I hate to drag this post on for so long but there is one more thing I forgot to mention, i am using a crossmember out of a 1980 truck in my 69 frame,are the holes in the crossmembers both in the same place for the mounts Thanks again biddaboy
