Painted my cab and fenders!!!! UPDATE: The Maiden Voyage today!!!!!

After a couple of doing bodywork inc replacing the inner and outer rockers and doors (rust free), I painted my cab.
The lime green pearl is basically a mix of Hyundai Lime Rock Green and KIA Green Tea

I painted the fenders and cowl corners the same time I did the cab.

All the 'gloss black' in the pics will be a satin black by the time I'm done with the truck. I like doing gloss clear first before adding the satin clear. Doesn't make the black splotchy.

Wheels will either be Foose Legend black or Boss 338 black (20's and 18's). Either one, I'll have to paint (or powdercoat) the black to match the other satin black areas.

CAN'T WAIT to do the rest of it!

Most of the interior will be covered (except dash and top of doors), but I went ahead and painted it anyway

Interesting, very similar to how I'm painting my Edsel.

Re: Painted my cab and fenders!!!!

Love the color combo too!! I was going to do the opposite of your layout with the main color on the roof and down the side with black everywhere else... but now after seeing this setup I might change in up! Cant wait to see more progress on this truck!

Re: Painted my cab and fenders!!!!

Thanks for all the compliments.

@ChiefRocka
I will be pretty much adding material throughout the interior.

@jocko
That is a black. The only reason I went with that is so it will match the black on the wheels. No gloss black will be left. It'll all be a satin black (basecoat/clearcoat)

@Tfish
Yea, I like the black on top. I rolled the dice.
I know all the trucks came with white though. With tinted windows, I think it'll look sharp!
I'm the guy that posted on a recent thread "pics of 2-tone' trucks" asking for pics of 2-tone where the roof were black versus the typical white. I did see a couple where it was done, but the pics weren't that great, so didn't get a good visual of it.

Re: Painted my cab and fenders!!!!

Beautiful - that's the same green I wanted to use, but I'll be sticking with a solid since I don't have enough compressor to do the whole truck at once.
Will watch your progress.

I agree! I'm glad I got to see a nice example of the layout, and cant wait to see the rest of the truck. Very sharp!
