hot cam kit
Hello, I'm putting a lq4 4l80e, and probably a set of 3:42 gears in a square stepper, I plan on headers a good cold air, and purchasing hp tuners, and was wondering if any one has ran a gmpp hot cam kit? I wanna have a reliable daily driver, that has vacuum and pulls fuel mileage. I also don't plan on spinning it past 5500rpm, want a bit of a loopity at idle, but it must idle...
With that said, is the hot cam the way to go? Or is there a better option out there for me? |

Re: hot cam kit
When I was looking for a cam, I considered the hot cam. After doing some research, I learned it was not the best choice for what I wanted. If I remember correctly, the hot cam is based somewhat on older cam specs, so it doesn't really take advantage of ls characteristics. I got one of comp cams lsr cams but don't have my truck running yet. Hopefully within the next few weeks I'll have some feedback.

Re: hot cam kit
I looked into the same cam kit. Although the price is good it isn't the best cam for a 6.0. Look into Texas Speed, they have good cam kits for about $100 more than the hot cam kit. I am getting mine through them. Torquer V.2 on a 112 LSA, sounds nasty as hell and produces great torque and hp. They also offer the same cam in 113 and 114 to smooth out the idle some.
