dash lights
Can someone tell me how to replace the dash lights? Are they individual or one big one? It's an '85 GMC.

Re: dash lights
If you take off the the bezel you'll see the cluster underneath. you'll have to take all the screws out around the outside of the cluster, unclip the spedometer cable and unclip the wire harness. there are about 10 little bulbs. just twist off the little black clips and you'll have the lights out.

Looks like this, little black clips hold the bulbs. |

Re: dash lights
Regardless if you put new bulbs in your dash/gauges they will not be much of an improvement with visible at night. I tried several 194 bulbs some claiming to be brighter than others but in the end, no diference.
I resorted to swapping out all of my bulbs with LEDs (direct swap) which resulted in about a 300% improvement in brighter lights and visibility. Keep in mind they are much more expensive. I spent about $80 replacing the bulbs in my dash, courtesy and dome lights. No regrets. I went to superbrightleds.com (http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...gi?product=CAR). Great over-the-phone tech support.
