Re: does these headers fit my 66 c30?

Yes they will, but if they are chrome they will turn blue and rust eventually, you`re better off getting high temp coated hedders as they will retain their appearance longer, price wise sinse shipping is factor for your you`re better off.

Re: does these headers fit my 66 c30?

im working now in instaling the v8 sbc..these headers not fit.it touch the engine mounts.

i pay 1500$ for chrome parts, and many of it not fit such as these headers, oil pan ,alternator brackets and maybe other parts still in the boxes.

realy i lose money and time.and will stop to buy other parts and spend more money.

now i know what pain in the ass mean.!!

Re: does these headers fit my 66 c30?

Sorry to hear of your issues. I somehow missed this thread before. I would have told you no they will not fit. Can you cut the motor mount for clearance?

nope i can not.its need more clearance, and you know when the car run the engine will move a little when you hit the gas pedal.

i found other style i think it will fit, they said in the ad "This is a set of brand new small block Chevy heavy duty truck headers with a chrome finish. They fit 1988-1995 small block Chevy engines using standard exhaust patterns such as 265, 283, 302, 305, 327, 350, 383, 400, etc, and GMC pickups such as 1500, 2500, 3500"

what you think captin? or any one instaled them? by the way, have manual trans from 1992 truck

Re: does these headers fit my 66 c30?

I do not know for certain, but I doubt those will fit either. The 1988-95 trucks have more room between the engine and the frame. Member Alan's Classic tried a set of 1988-'98 headers on his truck and they did not fit. You might look at his build thread to see what he used that fit. Can you use long tube headers?

Re: does these headers fit my 66 c30?

It is best to get the flange further away from the exhaust ports. If you run it hard, the flange on block huggers will usually warp and never seal again, regardless of the brand or quality of the block huggers. In fact, aluminum flange seals will melt on them. Aluminum flange seals will not usually melt on full length headers.

I will never run block huggers again.

Re: does these headers fit my 66 c30?

Here are a pair of headers that are designed to fit the '60-'66 trucks. These will work with a manual trans.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-69260/

Here is a pair of headers that are designed for newer trucks but will also fit the '63-'66 trucks. These will work with a manual trans with slight modification to the clutch bellcrank

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-69090/

These two headers are also available in the Elite series as part numbers 69268 and 69890
