Fenders

Is there a way to tell aftermarket fender from GM? Is there that much difference in quality? I am going to look at some todya after work. He got them from JY off of an 81 to fit his 78 and they do not fit so he just wants to get rid of them. So hopefully it will be a good score. I will let you all know. All I really need is the driver side so anyone needing a pass side fender for an 81-87 let me know.

New GM fenders are around $250 right now. They lowered the price a few months ago. Don't pay too much...

genuine gm parts, for the most part, aren't even made here anymore, try Canada or Mexico or even Taiwan. It's cheaper for GM to do so. China is getting big too, because steel from China is much cheaper.

The biggest thing to worry about is fit and finish. If it fits well enough, you're good. Of course, you don't want some 24 ga steel or something like that, but don't get GM just because it's GM......

just my 2 cents....

G.M. parts only have a paper sticker to I.d. them I always try to use OEM parts if possible because if they thought they were good enough to use they would .In short jobber parts are sh!t I'm not blowing smoke up your ass, I know this first hand becuase insurance companies try to use them all the time becaus e they are cheaper and they don't give a damn if they fit or not . Those fags try to get use to put that crap on all the time
