Square Body LS swap guys
I am having an issue with my speedo. I have a 90/91 burb cluster and it is about 30 mph slow. The Tech 2 indicates 30+ mph and the speedo is indicating approx 5-8 mph. Any body have to use a DRAC with one of these? Any body have a good place to have one of these checked or serviced? Jay

Re: Square Body LS swap guys
where is your speedo hooked up to? Vss off trans or right off the PCM?
If PCM, you think the gears/tire size is wrong?

Re: Square Body LS swap guys
I used the cluster in an LT1 swap, and it worked fine (once I got a good speedo). My first one, the odometer worked, the second one the speedo worked and the odometer didn't. I figured the odometer not working was the lesser of two evils. I talked to Bob about how he wired his with the LS swap, and it was running the VSS out on the PCM directly to the pin on the cluster; no DRAC. The PCM is the buffer rather than the DRAC. Sounds like a bad speedo. I work at a GM dealer, Speedometer Service and Specmo both wanted $200 to go through the cluster for repair. Cheaper to find another one in my case.

Re: Square Body LS swap guys
The speed on the scanner is seat of the pants right. So the gear tire combo in the program is right. I guess the speedo head is bad. The PCM is hooked straight to the cluster input. Jay

Re: Square Body LS swap guys
I had Justin at black bear tune it. I don't want to have the ability to tune it, or I will tweak it until it breaks. Jay
