Yeah you need Stainless Steel. Chrome always rusts because they plate them cheaply.

I have LMC SS Mirrors and they've been great for 3 years now. Also LMC sells Seperate Left and Right mirrors, not the one mirror fits both doors type. so they fit better too.

Just wanted to add to this. I had been told that truckandcarshop.com is as good as LMC. Well, the set of mirrors (that are described as having stainless steel parts) have hardware that is rusting after a few months.

Avoid truck and car shop out of Orange County and stick with LMC!

rusted indoors? you wouldn't happen to own a swimming pool or hot tub would you? if you keep pull cleaning supplies indoors it will rust and oxidize anything metal. I am a bicycle mechanic, and I have seen bikes that look like they have been outdoors in the elements for years.

Are the factory mirrors stainless? Neither one of mine has rusted, granted they're not the shiniest you ever seen. Nothing on my truck is.

I have bought from LMC and the Truck shop both have been very reasonable in answering my problems or concerns..

Oh another problem is the cheap lmc mirrors use plastic innards instead of metal like oem, resulting in them moving every time I close the door harder than a nudge

The cheapest way to go would find a pair in a junk yard and a good stainless polish will clean them right up. remember if a magnet sticks to them they aren't true stainless.

I was thinking that those were van mirrors. I see a lot of those with the curved arm in the junkyard, all on vans.
