Just venting, I scored on a set of 5 15X8 6 lug wheels. Unfortunately because of the 72 jimmy rear end in my truck they will not fit under the wheel wells. I'm not willing to change out rear ends to get the wheels to fit.
maybe I can turn them into bar stools.....

so you have a 4wd axle under a 2wd? I know they make 1.5" spacers that us 73-87/91 guys use to make the front and rear widths the same, maybe look into that route?

If you do use "spacers" I would use the type that bolt on. Most places call them adapters. They make 5x5 to 5x5 or what ever pattern you use. most are 1.25" think but they offer thinker and thinner varieties.

I assume he means they stick out too far, so the spacers wouldn't solve the problem. He said 72 rear end in a 59.

Yeah Bluejeep has it right, the newer rear end on the truck makes it about and inch too wide to run the 15X8s i picked up. Just limits my choices for wheels is all.
Like I said I'm just venting, nice wheels though.

If they are steel wheels you might think about having someone cut the centers out and move them out a bit increasing the back spacing. It wouldn't take all that much an the only real issue would be that you couldn't rotate the tires unless you did the fronts too. You would have to calculate how much room you had to do it though as some wide rims already have a fairly deep backspacing and might hit the tie rod ends if they go further.

I have the same sitch with my truck. It has a wider rear from a (whatever) under it, and it has lift blocks between the springs and axle. I'd like to take them out and lower the back, but then the tires would hit the fenders. Not sure if they were stock with the rear axle, but they make the 31" tires fit.
