Re: muncie 4 speed + stock seat?

I don't have a task force truck but will offer this up, for whatever it is worth.

Hurst makes a shifter specifically for a 4-speed Muncie in a truck, basically just a longer handle. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HUU-3917308/

For my '65 C10 I bought their shifter for a '57 Chevy, it moves the shifter forward to help clear the seat. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HU...n/?prefilter=1

I ended up using bucket seats and a blazer console though.

Re: muncie 4 speed + stock seat?

I have that same setup in my 57, but I did it 32 years ago. Don't remember what I did. The knob is close to the seat but does work. I did put an extension on the shifter to make it taller, actually its a old rod and piston out of a Briggs and Stratton. The throughs are very long, the linkage needs to be modified so the throughs sre not so long.

Re: muncie 4 speed + stock seat?

we used to have the seat notched and that gave you the clearance you needed for the shifter.
