So we're going to either have to cut those tabs off but that might break the housing or cut small slits in the rings so the tabs will fit through. I think that's the most logical solution. I guess these headlight housings weren't made with 40 year old trucks in mind! If you want to run hids the "right" way you're supposed to put them in a projector housing but if you've ever seen what those look like for our era of trucks... If I'm blinding other drivers I'll just go back to stock because those projectors are hideous! |

Re: Project Swagger
I'm considering a color change so anybody who would like to give their .02 please do! I really like certain shades of green and found some nice ones. The first two are the Viper Snakeskin Green:
This other one I really like is a couple shades lighter and it's the House Of Kolor Limetime. |

Re: Project Swagger
Thanks for the feedback! I go back and forth but I think the orange would be preferred by most people too.
The 15x14 rally wheels came in yesterday. The trim rings and center caps aren't in good enough condition to keep which is a bummer. I was hoping I wasn't going to have to get new ones. So hopefully Tuesday morning I'll be able to drop the wheels off at the powdercoating shop and get those started. Here's a pic of the wheels: |

I thought about painting mine this color of green from a Boyd Coddington build. It's called antifreeze green. |

Re: Project Swagger
I'm with your body guy on this one...Certain rides can pull off this tone of green, but I don't know if a blazer with wide rallies is one of them.

Re: Project Swagger
@Matthew79 - those wheels are wide! whoa! and I like the license plate.
@Drunkbus - I like the dark green on your blazer better than a lime green. |

Thanks about the plate and yes those wheels almost made me laugh when I saw them! I dropped them off to get powder coated this morning. I went with a gloss black instead of satin and added a coat of clear to protect them. They gave me an estimate of 5-8 business days to finish them...can't wait! |

Re: Project Swagger
my 2c also are that hugger orange blazer looks a lot better. I think it's the perfect color for a lifted blazer!

Re: Project Swagger
Yes, I agree with the comments about the orange. Orange it is!!
I got the wheels back from being powder coated today! Man, they look amazing!! I had them done gloss black with a coat of clear to protect the gloss. Unfortunately my regular camera is stuck on the "solarize" feature so I took some pics with my other camera and I think it's only like 1.3 mp. I'll try to get some better pics because these ones just don't do them any justice. Here's the new wheels! |

Re: Project Swagger
Thanks! 35x14.50x15 boggers!
Thanks! I can't wait to get them mounted on some tires! The upholstery guy is coming by tomorrow to pick the seats up so those should be done by Friday or Saturday. I'm going with some saddle houndstooth covers and looking at them in their box I can tell they're going to look great. |

Re: Project Swagger
That is gonna be one super nice ride!!!
Not trying to be a bummer, but are you sure about that tire size vs rim size. Years ago I had the 35x14.5x15 on an '85 with 10" rims & it was just right. That's what Interco recommends too http://www.intercotire.com/tires.php?id=13&g=1 I've seen 14.5 tires on as wide as 12" rims & that looked wrong - like they had to force the tire to seal on it.

Re: Project Swagger
Thanks a lot! Yes, I can't wait to get started on the 2wd. I told my body guy that I have another blazer for him to work on but not until my 4wd is done. I'm hoping it'll get him moving a little faster.. We'll see if it worked!

Re: Project Swagger
Ok I got my seats back today and they came out great!! I got them from Bill and his screen name is pickupman.
This will probably be the last update until it's finished. The only thing left to do is wait for it to get painted. I was told it should be finished no later than mid August. This is definitely taking longer than I anticipated. |
