which year of axle relocating kit do i need

I have a 1967 gmc 3/4 making a 5 lug disc/drum and lowering it 4/6. I have the rear end out of a 1974 chevy 1/2 ton. Can I buy rear axle relocators for the 73-87 chevy trucks? I did have a GM corporate 8 lug 14 bolt 10.5 ring out of 73-87 chevy truck in it previously.

Part No. 61160
http://www.stockcarproducts.com/trkarm1.htm

You will also need a way to reattach your track bar the the '74 rearend housing.
The easiest way is to use the Super Track Bar from ECE.

Re: which year of axle relocating kit do i need

Just to 100% confirm.... this is going to be a truck-arm suspension & not leaf springs?

Just lots of internet time, and helpful people on this board.
I save these links to my "favorites".

Re: which year of axle relocating kit do i need

Scoti, Its leaf springs only. I don't have the track bar on my 1967 GMC 3/4 ton. I got a little antsy today and went to LMC and bought the axel flip for a 1973-1987 Chevy 1/2 ton. Bad move, #1 because Keith already told me to get the 67-72 chevy flip, 2# I had to drive another 35 minutes to take it back because the the leaf spring bolt hole was in the back half of the axle relocators and not in the center. I figured it might have worked since my 12 bolt rearend is out of a 1974 Chevy. I have it mocked up, just waiting to get my flip kit so I can weld in place the shock mounts where I need them and paint it too.

My link is the wrong parts.
I thought your truck was coil spring.
Now I see it is a leaf spring truck.

Thanks SCOTI,... for asking the correct questions.
I guess have your truck confused with another member.

I talk to too many people in PM's I guess.

The hole is suppose to be offset and NOT in the center of the flip kit bracket.
It is that way, so it will move the rearend "slighty" rearward,... to keep the rearend centered in the wheel opening.
(and to help with the driveshaft length after flipping the rearend on top of the leaf springs).

lol, oh. I should have took a picture. It just looked too far back from center, almost too the back of the bracket.

Keith, this is here they some what looked like but the hole is about the right spot. The top one is the bottom of the bracket and the second is my side view

Re: which year of axle relocating kit do i need

Those are correct for 73-87 trucks.
Did you try to fit them on your '67 3/4-ton leaf springs?
The hole goes towards the "front of the truck", when installed.

Re: which year of axle relocating kit do i need

Your lower shock mounts on the '74 rearend housing will also have to be modified/fabbed,... to match the position of your '67 shocks.

Re: which year of axle relocating kit do i need

I have the shock mounts shaved off and grinded down, I was going to wait to weld them in place after i got the flip kit on so I could mark my locations for the shock mounts.

Re: which year of axle relocating kit do i need

The PO had both the shock mounts facing toward the front on the 14 bolt corporate that was in it. I'm going to place one facing the front and one facing the rear. I hear that keeps the rear end from pitching or rolling.

Re: which year of axle relocating kit do i need

Thanks keith for the help, I didn't know which way that hole was supposed to face on the kit. It just came with worded directions, it never mentioned which way the hole was supposed to face. I'll post my pics when I get my flip kit installed.
Thanks,
Scott
