You didn't mention if you want a manual or automatic trans. If you currently have a manual, the you'll have most of the parts to add another manual with o/d. If you don't then you'd need to source the pedals, Z-bar, clutch linkage, bell housing, etc etc.

Anyway,
If you want an Automatic Trans:

From a Chevrolet (so bell housing bolt pattern matches):

- 700R4
- 2004R
Both of which will need a torque converter lock-up kit
Or:
- 4L60E/4L65E
- 4L70E
- 4L80E/4L85E
- 5L40E/5L50E
All of which will need an electronic shift controller

If you want a Manual Trans:
T5 (recommend the World Class version)
TKO 500/600
M-21Y
Keisler RS400/500/600

Well then if you're looking for a 5 speed manual trans, you could use a T5 or a NV3500. I do know that the NV3500 is rated at 330 ftlbs. The T5 came in 3rd Gen F-body's as well as S-10's and the NV3500 came in '88 and up full size trucks.

Re: i have a 65 c10 v8

Which trans?

There is a good thread over in the 'Engine and Drivetrain' section, with lots of info on a T5 conversion.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=313954

The NV3500 has an integral bellhousing, and is only a hydraulicly actuated clutch. What flywheel will depend on what engine you have. For a trans crossmember, you will just need one from a '63-'87 2wd pickup or Suburban with an auto trans, or possible from a '73-'87 with a manual trans. The yoke will need to be specific for the trans used, but you may need a conversion U-joint to mate that to your driveshaft.
