Question 72 disc Brakes on a 66 C10

I am installing 72 disc brakes and spindles from a 72 onto a 66 but have run into a ball joint fitment problem. What ball joints, it any, can I install in the 66 control arms and use the 72 spindles?

I think the 72 ball joints work in the 66 arms.

Re: 72 disc Brakes on a 66 C10

If the '66 is a C10, the '72 ball joints should fit no problem. If the '66 is a C20, then you have a problem. I don't know if there is a lower ball joint that will fit the LCA and the spindle at the same time. if it is a C20, have you tried the '66 ball joint? A '73-'87 C20 ball joint, The '88-'98 light duty 2500 ball joint? If worse comes to worse, you might have to go with a ball joint that is too big for the spindle, and have the taper on the spindle enlarged with the proper reamer.
