67-70 and 71-72 interchangeability..
I just bought a 71 373 5 lug rearend from 68stepbed (matt).
It needs brakes etc. Less than 2000 miles ago I redid the brakes on my 68 6 lug 373 12 bolt rearend. Can I swap cyclinders and shoes from 1 rearend to another, or will there be issues... Also, the drums need to be turned, I have a 2nd set of 5 lug drums that dont look that bad, let me get pics of my recent purchase... Also, THANKS MATT for making the drive/cruise with the wife to help me out!!! Pics comming soon, I think vintage air is on my list too haha it was hot

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...p2HomeClicked= One lnik is a 68 rearened (whats under my truck now/motor trans etc). The other is a 72 rearend with a 350 The P/N is the same...can anyone verify that for me (experience, not what computer says). Suppose the cylinders are the same too?

Re: 67-70 and 71-72 interchangeability..
You'll need to measure the brakes on both rearends to see if they are the same. You could get either normal or HD brakes. The shoes will be either 2 or 2 3/4 inches wide. Same shoes means parts will interchange.

Re: 67-70 and 71-72 interchangeability..
have you compared them side by side ... that's normally the easiest way to see if two different parts are the same.
