5/6 drop is to bouncy

Well gfs truck has been driving around for about 2 months or so and the ride is just to bouncy in the front.

Its a 74 short bed with added weight of a 454. The suspension is this. . .

Rear:
New leafs from trucksprings.com
New belltech nitro drop 2 shocks

Front:
2" drop spindles (unknown brand but guessing Mcgaurd)
New 3" drop coils from DJM
New Belltech nitro drop 2 shocks

When driving down the road its a very bouncy ride and shes not to happy with it. Are there stiffer shocks that we can use that are for a dropped ride?

The rear suspension seems just fine its just the front that is very bouncy.

Could be hitting the bump stops?? That would cause it to ride a little rough...

I would say that the biggest thing here is to decide exactly what "bouncy" means in this case.

"Generally", bouncy is thought of as "soft" suspension with shocks that are not able to control it.

With drop springs, you are probably experiencing a "stiff" ride that "bounces" the passengers in the seat...meaning that you bounce, not the truck.

You really need to know which way to go with this to fix it.
If it is already to stiff (or banging the bumpstops), stiffer shocks won't do a thing.

Well said. I would have someone else drive it and watch to see if the front suspension is oscillating...

Most drop spindles for these 73-87's are 2.5" or 3". CPP makes a 2" but its the Modular Series. I'll guess that you have a 2.5" spindle, and a 3" spring.

Your not going to like this, but my suggestion would be replace the 3" springs. I have never had good luck with 3" springs, and I don't know of anyone that has. I would pull the spring and cut one coil from the stocker and drop it in. It requires some labor, but I'll bet your pleased with the results.
