motor swap

ok

i just got my truck back to san diego and i just found out that ill be moving from san diego to chicago in september

so i need to get this done

im goin to be swapping the rear end, tranny and the motor from my 03 sierra into my 71 c10

the sierra is a 100% complete truck

its got about 160k miles on the motor and about 10k on the 4l60e

i want to throw a cam and a new intake on it eventually
im keeping it fuel injected

what would a generous budget be for this swap?
can i do it without having to buy anything major

Re: motor swap

I would plan to spend about another $2K in parts. Less if you can rework your harness and program your own computer.

Re: motor swap

If you have the complete truck, I'd say another 2k is ballpark if your not going to do a bunch of other stuff at the same time. The rear end swap will add a little cost; what rear end is it, and is the width going to work for your swap truck?
