Intro and my 64 panel.

Hi there!
I signed up long ago and lurked until I finally dragged home my truck. I chased this one for over 20 years and finally got it home two days ago. Here are a few pics of it as found and after two days of my wife pressure washing it! Watcha think? Any suggestions for El Cheapo lowering?? I have heard of Jeep springs, but will they work in a panel??

And yes, I do know how to spell!!

Re: Intro and my 64 panel.

What a cool story. Congrats on being patient and finally getting it. It looks great after the pressure washing, especially for a vehicle that sat out in the Canadian elements for that long.

Can't wait to see what's next!

Re: Intro and my 64 panel.

Congrats bud! Do you know if it is all original or?? The GMC letters in the grill are '66 only, that is why I ask.

Check out my signature for my suburban build. I explain all about using jeep springs and why/why not to.

Again, Welcome and congrats!

Re: Intro and my 64 panel.

WTG! I want a panel someday myself I can't remember but I read somebody tried jeep springs on either a sub or a panel and they dropped all the way to the bump stops...it might have been a sub though.

Re: Intro and my 64 panel.

The panel had been in a minor front end accident at one time. As near as I can tell, and from what I have been told by the previous owner the grill and hood had been replaced. The rest is all original. It has a 283 powerglide in it. It will get an altititude adjustment very soon, once all the bugs are ironed out.

Re: Intro and my 64 panel.

Is it on coil springs in the rear ??? If so you can do bags in place of the coils and it does not cost very much. Just depends on how low you want it. Kieth

Only cost $200.00 controled by a schrader valve (valve stem)
